Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion 2026

Downtown Bristol shuts down State Street for three days of roots music, and the crowd splits its time between a dozen open-air stages and the bars lining both sides of the Tennessee-Virginia line. This year marks another edition of the free street festival built around Americana, bluegrass, and old-time string bands, with satellite showcases running at Cascade Draft House, Cheap Thrills Records, and other downtown spots feeding into the main stages.

Show up early if you want a spot near the State Street stages — the sidewalks fill in fast once the afternoon sets kick off, and the bars along State Street run drink specials all weekend for festival-goers. Wear real shoes; you’ll be on your feet moving between stages most of the day, and downtown parking gets tight by early afternoon, so a lot of regulars just park at the edge of downtown and walk in.
